Safety Policy & Liability Waiver

Last updated: 2.23.2026

DC Training & Tactics is committed to maintaining a safe, disciplined, and controlled training environment. Participation in any training session requires strict adherence to the following policies.

1. Safety Standards

All participants must strictly follow the Four Universal Firearm Safety Rules:

  1. Treat all firearms as if they are loaded at all times.

  2. Never point a firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.

  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you are ready to fire.

  4. Be sure of your target and what lies beyond it.

All instructor commands must be followed immediately and without hesitation.

Failure to comply with safety standards may result in immediate dismissal from training.

2. Required Safety Equipment

Eye protection and hearing protection are mandatory during all live-fire activities.

Additional safety equipment may be required at the instructor’s discretion depending on the course or training environment.

Participants are responsible for arriving properly equipped unless prior arrangements have been made.

3. Conduct & Dismissal Authority

DC Training & Tactics reserves the right to remove any participant from training for:

  • Unsafe firearm handling

  • Failure to follow instructor commands

  • Repeated negligence

  • Disruptive or reckless behavior

  • Conduct that compromises the safety of others

Dismissal for safety violations will result in immediate removal from the course and forfeiture of all course fees. No refunds or rescheduling will be provided.

All instructor safety determinations are final.

4. Intoxication & Impairment Policy

Participants must not attend training while under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, or any medication that may impair judgment, coordination, or safe firearm handling.

Any participant who appears impaired may be denied participation or dismissed from training at the instructor’s sole discretion.

Dismissal for impairment will result in forfeiture of all course fees.

For minors, the parent or legal guardian signing on behalf of the participant affirms that the minor is not under the influence of any impairing substance.

5. Equipment & Ammunition Policy

Participants are responsible for ensuring that their personal firearms and equipment are safe, functional, and appropriate for training.

DC Training & Tactics reserves the right to inspect, restrict, or substitute any equipment deemed unsafe or unsuitable.

If a participant uses firearms, holsters, belt systems, magazines, or other equipment provided by DC Training & Tactics, the participant must use DC Training & Tactics–provided ammunition.

This requirement ensures compatibility, safe function, and proper maintenance of instructor-provided firearms.

Use of instructor-provided firearms requires purchase of instructor-provided ammunition at the applicable training rate. Ammunition charges must be paid prior to or immediately following the session and may be charged to the card on file.

Participants are financially responsible for any damage to instructor-provided equipment beyond normal wear, as well as for lost or unreturned training equipment.
